There's a new ecopark in the country.
The National Power Corporation (Napocor) recently opened to public the Angat Rainforest and Ecological Park located in Bulacan province.
In a media interview, Napocor president Ma. Gladys Cruz-Sta. Rita said that the Angat watershed houses more than 290 endemic species of non-woody and woody plants such as bagtikan, tanguile and yakal.
It also has about 66 species of vertebrates and 43 species of birds which makes the watershed very attractive to bird and nature photographers.
The park’s view deck, ecological center and Tarictic fun trail are among its major attractions, she said.
The Angat watershed is a multi-purpose facility that serves as flood control, a natural buffer zone against calamity, and source of water for irrigation of the agricultural land in Bulacan and Pampanga, for domestic water supply of Metro Manila and for power generation, she added.

Hi! Is there a picnic ground there at the eco-park? We plan to go March 1, 2015 Sunday. What time does it open? Thanks for your prompt attention.
ReplyDeleteThe Angat Ecopark is initially offering fun trails for hikers, but carrying some food snacks and beverages may just be ok for everyone :) Have fun!
