The 2021 Yamaha Sniper, also known as Exciter in Vietnam and Yamaha Y15ZR or
“Y-Suku” in Malaysia, gets fresh upgrades and changes with many new details
based on technologies from the YZF-R1 super sportbike.
Among the refreshed looks of the 2021 Sniper are new body panels, with LED headlights and LED DRLs located below on the front cowl. The tail light and rear fenders comes in fresh forms carrying similar designs as that of the Yamaha YZF-R1 super bike.
Powering the 2021 Yamaha Sniper is a single-cylinder 155 cc EFI, with SOCH Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) geared with a six-speed transmission with slip and assist clutch. It produces 17.7 hp at 9,500 rpm and 14.4 Nm of torque at 8,000 rpm.
The 2021 Sniper also receives a sporty two-step design seat that comes with stylish stitchings all over. Underneath it is a new, larger fuel tank that fills 5.4-litres that can take the Sniper 2.09 liters per 100 kilometers.
Going further down the chassis, the 2021 Yamaha Sniper gets front and rear hydraulic disc brakes under front forks (which are now 10 mm taller), and the rear section with a preload-adjustable mono shock. Rubbers come in tubeless tires at 90 / 80-17M / C 46P in the front and 120 / 70-17M / C 58P at the rear.
The 2021 Yamaha Sniper's electronics are also new, with a brand-new instrument panel containing a digital LCD display which includes a tachometer and gear indicator, a kill switch on the right handlebar pod, passing light switch on the left, a keyless start with push-button seat opening and a USB charging socket.
Recently launched in Vietnam, the 2021 Yamaha Sniper carries a price tag of 50,490,000 VND (Approx Php 105K).
