Still reeling from the daily 7-hour water interruptions, customers of the Maynilad Water Services in Metro Manila may yet suffer another round of agony with the proposed daily 20-hour water interruptions set to be implemented next week.
This after the authorities said that rains failed to replenish water supply in Angat dam. The daily rainwater in the metropolis do not necessarily fall in the Angat Dam area, that's why the water level there continues to drop.
In an interview with ANC News, Engr. Ronald Padua, head of water supply operations in Maynilad, said that those severely affected by the water interruptions will have water only for four hours (4am to 8am).
The residents who currently experience water interruption for 7 hours, from 9pm to 4 am, will get 20 hour interruptions starting next week, most likely on October 5.
This move is to make the waters in Angat Dam to last until summer 2016, he added.
Maynilad will announce in the next few days which areas/barangays will be affected by the daily 20-hour water interruptions.
