New parking rules for Tomas Morato and Timog Avenue start March 23! Learn
about the 3-hour limit, free public slots, and how to avoid official
violations.
Heads Up, QC: New 3-Hour Parking Limit for Morato & Timog
If you’re planning a coffee run or a dinner meet-up along Tomas Morato or
Timog Avenue, your parking routine is about to change.
Starting March 23, 2026 (Monday), the Quezon City Government is launching a
dry run for new parking regulations under the "QC ReVibe" initiative. Whether
you’re on two wheels or four, here is the lowdown on how to stay out of the
tow zone:
1. It’s Free (For Now)
Good news for your wallet: parking in public spaces is officially FREE. It is
strictly first-come, first-served, so no more haggling over "reservations."
2. The 3-Hour Countdown
This is the big one. You can only stay in a public spot for a maximum of
three (3) hours. Once your time is up, you must move your vehicle to a
different spot. If you overstay, expect a violation ticket.
3. Watch Out for Scams
Only official QC Transport and Traffic Management Department (TTMD)
attendants are authorized to issue tickets. If anyone else tries to charge you
or hand you a slip, it’s a red flag.
4. No More "Park-for-a-Fee"
Charging any parking fee in these public areas is strictly prohibited. If
someone asks for "parking money," report them immediately to the TTMD main
office.
The Bottom Line
These rules are the "new normal" until the official Public Pay Parking
Ordinance is passed. It’s all about keeping the traffic moving and making sure
everyone gets a fair shot at a spot in the city's busiest district.
Ride safe, park smart, and keep an eye on your watch!
