KidZania Manila: New children's theme park set to open in BGC


KidZania Manila, the newest indoor family entertainment center, is set to open at the Bonifacio Global City this summer.

The children's theme park is a 10,000 square meter indoor facility which can accommodate up to 1,500 visitors in any given time.

A franchise of a Mexican chain of family entertainment centers, KidZania Manila allows children ages 3 to 14 to work in adult jobs and earn currency, with over 100 role-playing activities, and running the city as pilots, chefs, news anchors, firemen, police officers, or doctors.

Among the industry partners that will be offering role-playing activities at the park are:

Cebu Pacific, Bank of the Philippine Islands, Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Shell, Purefoods, Philippine Daily Inquirer, and ABS-CBN.  A-1 Driving, ABS-CBN Mobile, ABS-CBN Publishing, ABS-CBN Sports, Centro Escolar University, Champion, Nestle Chuckie, Jack ‘N Jill Cream-O, dzMM, First Gen, Goldilocks, Green Cross, Healthy Options, Holiday Inn, Honda, Johnson’s Baby, Lady’s Choice, LBC, Magnolia, Mercury Drug, Milo, MOR 103.1, National Book Store, O Shopping, Oishi, Pascual, Penshoppe, Pet Express, Pioneer Insurance, Powerade, Sky Cable, Sky Zone, Star Magic, Star Music, Toy Kingdom, and Yellow Cab.

Children can participate in the activities in one 5-hour shift from Mondays to Thursdays, and two shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Ticket prices are expected to be announced next month.

KidZania Manila, which will be operated by ABS-CBN Corp. subsidiary Play Innovations, is expecting to welcome around 600,000 visitors in a 12-month period.

The KidZania franchise currently has 17 locations in 14 countries. Aside from Manila, KidZania will be opening new sites in Singapore, Moscow, London, and Sao Paolo this year. (Source: ABS-CBN News)
