Marty McFly, Doc Brown reunite in the 'Back to the Future-ish' Toyota ad
It's "Back to the Future" Day, October 21, 2015!

For those who grew up with Michael J. Fox's epic sci-fi trilogy, you'd probably know by now that today is the day when Marty McFly arrived in the futuristic Hill Valley on board the very famous DeLorean time machine piloted by the eccentric Doc Emmet Brown.

The "pimped up" DeLorean, Marty discovered in "Back to the Future 2", uses trash as fuel, The Doc practically pouring a banana peel and a soda can into its fuel tank.

Having said that, Toyota today unveils the full-length version of its homage to "Back to the Future," promoting its new Mirai hydrogen fuel car. In the ad, a car enthusiast and fan of the movie meets Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd (Marty McFly and Doc Brown) in a diner and promises to show them a car that really does use trash as fuel.

Oh, and before we forget, there are a few more things "Back to the Future 2" got right, such as: video calling (invented by Apple in 2003), biometrics security (invented 1995), flat screens and multi-channel viewing (invented 1992), video glasses (Google Glass in 2013), and just recently - hoverboards (it's not quite the floating skateboard Marty rode through Hill Valley but it's a levitating platform with enough power to lift a fully grown adult!)
