Dilmah Tea Lounge to open in Philippines this year

Then it's gotta be good news for you because the Dilmah Tea Lounge will be opening in the Philippines soon.

Considered the No. 1 tea brand in several countries, Dilmah is set to open at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Cebu City within the year.

From what we've heard, the Dilmah company will not only serve their original tea beverages, but will also offer tea-inspired gourmet treats plus some cocktails.


The Menu (what we know so far)

Salads/appetizers. River Prawn, Nashi Pear, Dilmah Blueberry and Pomegranate Tea Gelee and Rocket Leaves salad and the Dilmah Sencha Green Tea Onigiris featuring salmon, tuna and barbecued eel.

Soup. Dilmah Natural Ceylon Ginger Tea with Chicken Brown and a Prawn Dumpling.

Dishes. Chilli Capellini, Caramelized Scallop, and Tobiko with Dilmah Green Tea Dressing.

Entree. Classic Seafood Thermidor with Dilmah Green Tea Hollandaise, Gratinated Lambchop and Caramelized Dilma Single Estate Darjeeling Tea Potatoes

Roast. US Rib Eye steak, slow-cooked crusted by Dilmah Moroccan Mint Green Tea.

Desserts. Chocolate and Dilmah Earl Grey Tea Tart, Dilmah Mango and Strawberry Tea Sphere, Dilmah Natural Rosehip and Hibiscus with Rose Jelly and Macerated Lychee Pannacotta, and the Dilmah Sencha Green Tea Finger.


The Company

Dilmah is a brand of Ceylon tea which was founded in 1974 by a Sri Lankan businessman named Merrill Fernando. The name Dilmah was chosen by combining the first names of Fernando's sons Dilhan and Malik.

At present, the Dilmah Tea is available in over 92 countries including the United Kingdom, Turkey, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Hungary, Canada, Chile, South Africa, Australia, Japan and New Zealand. (Source: Manila: Day & Night)
