VIDEO: 3 cops beating up civilian caught on cam

Three policemen are in hot water after they were caught on camera beating up a civilian in Paniqui, Tarlac.

PNP Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Generoso Cerbo Jr. confirmed that the video, which has been making the rounds in social media, was taken in Paniqui, Tarlac.

A DZMM report from Edwin Sevidal said that the 39-second video first shows the victim in orange T-shirt engaging in a heated argument with one of the policeman. The policeman, annoyed by the victim's apparent resistance, then pushed the latter against a parked vehicle.

Two other policemen were then seen kicking and punching the victim.

The victim was then held down and punched repeatedly by the first policeman.

Cerbo said the three policemen, identified as PO2 Richelle Antonio, PO2 Gerardo Bermudez, and PO2 Fernando Acosta, have been placed under restrictive custody while an investigation is ongoing.

The PNP spokesman, citing information from Paniqui Police chief Senior Superintendent Alfredo Corpuz, said the policemen were supposed to serve an arrest warrant to the victim for physical injury charges.

Cerbo said he does not want to make any conclusion yet based solely on the video. He said policemen must always practice maximum tolerance when dealing with anyone.
