Double pay for workers on April 9 'Araw ng Kagitingan'
Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, has been declared a regular holiday nationwide.
Under the DOLE’s pay rules, an employee who would not report for work shall be paid 100 percent salary for that day, including the cost of living allowance (COLA).
Those who report for work shall receive double or 200 percent of their regular salary for that day for the first eight hours.
An employee working in excess of eight hours shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her hourly rate on that day.
An employee working during a regular holiday falling on his or her rest day shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her daily rate of 200 percent.
Work in excess of eight hours on a regular holiday falling on the employee’s rest day shall be paid an additional 30 percent of his/her hourly rate.--Source: Philstar
